Bellator takes notice

Bellator Fighting Championships has taken notice of the Louisiana fight scene. After hosting an event in north louisiana just a few short months ago, they have scheduled an event in New Orleans for its second endeavor in the bayou. New Orleans has a solid history of producing MMA talent including UFC veterans Melvin Guillard, Pat Barry, and Rich Clementi, with Kyle Bradley in Baton Rouge, Tim Credure in Lafayette, and recent transplant Ricco Rodriguez...the south louisiana fight scene has blossomed into a bloody blend of grappling and striking.
The Mahalia Jackson Theater will host Bellator 28th on September 9th. Two fights have been tentatively scheduled:
New Orleans-area native and beloved UFC veteran Rich "No Love" Clementi (36-16-1) vs. Bellator Season 2 veteran Carey Vanier (9-3) at 155 lbs.
Bellator Season 2 veteran Georgi "Insane" Karakhanyan (13-2-1) vs. undefeated Texas-based submission ace Chas Skelly (7-0) at 145 lbs.
